Vivek Sharma

I am a researcher and PhD candidate at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology. I work at the Department of Informatics - Institute for Anthropomatics and Robotics with the Computer Vision Group, CV:HCI. I am advised by Prof. Rainer Stiefelhagen. Earlier, I worked as a research assistant at KU Leuven with the Computer Vision Group where I was advised by Prof. Luc Van Gool (KU Leuven/ ETH Zürich). I completed my M.Sc. CIMET joint-degree in computer science with majors in computer vision and multi/hyper-spectral imaging at UJM, UGR, NTNU, and KIT. I completed my B.Tech. in computer science at B.K. Birla Institute of Engineering & Technology, Pilani. Prior to my enrolment into the Masters, I have worked at Fraunhofer IOSB and KIT as a research associate and a guest researcher. My recent research work has been related to topics computer vision, machine learning, multi/hyper-spectral imaging, image processing, and safe human-robot collaboration. Outcomes of his research are published in major machine learning and computer vision conferences and workshops such as in CVPR, ICML, RO-MAN and more. I have led several leading positions, such as a member of IEEE (was secretary of BKBIET Chapter), SPIE, OSA, CVF, TEKNA, and SpectroNet International Collaboration Forum. I was involved in organizing IONS (SPIE-OSA, OSKar German Chapter, 2012), Green Earth (IEEE, BKBIET Chapter, 2010), and National Student Chapter Meet (IEEE, BKBIET Chapter, 2010).
