At Middle East Technical University, my journey in software engineering has been comprehensive and enriching. I began with Introduction to Computer Science and Programming, where I laid the groundwork in computer systems and algorithms using Python. Building on this foundation, I advanced to C Programming, where I honed my skills in algorithmic thinking, code analysis, and debugging techniques. The Data Structures course further developed my expertise with advanced C programming techniques, focusing on implementing abstract data types like linked lists, stacks, and queues, which introduced me to Object-Oriented Programming (OOP). My academic path included Discrete Computational Structures, which provided a solid understanding of theoretical computing concepts such as logic, set theory, and graph theory. In Software Engineering Basics, I explored the software development lifecycle in depth, studying various modeling techniques, testing methods, and professional ethics. To complement my software skills with hardware knowledge, I took Logic Design, where I learned about computer architecture, circuit design, practical applications, and simulations using Quartus and ModelSIM. I further expanded my computing knowledge through Formal Languages and Abstract Machines, gaining insights into theoretical aspects of computing. In Object-Oriented Software Development, I mastered advanced programming concepts like inheritance and polymorphism and delved into Functional Programming with Haskell. These courses have collectively enhanced my proficiency in Python, C, C++, and Haskell, equipping me with a sophisticated and powerful programming skill set. In the upcoming semester, I will further my technical and communication skills. Advanced Communication Skills will refine my abilities in CV writing, cover letters, and job interviews. In Algorithms, I will focus on analyzing, designing, and critiquing Time, CNGutational, and CNGlexities of algorithms. Computer Organization will deepen my understanding of computer architecture and microprogramming. I will also study Data Management and File Structures, including file organization and SQL, and Software Project Management, covering project evaluation, risk assessment, and team management. Finally, Software Design will teach me to apply design principles and patterns to create maintainable and efficient software systems.
